The cost includes lunch. Registration is online at www.diosef.org/register.html .

The theme of the conference, which will be held Apr. 8 and 9, 9 a.m.-3 p.m, in the gymnasium at St. Mark the Evangelist, Ft. Lauderdale, is One Body--Many Members: Ministry in a Multicultural World. The speakers will be teacher and pastor Gary Howard, author of the book, You Can't Teach What You Don't Know and the Rev. Kortright Davis, professor of theology at Howard University School of Divinity and rector of Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Washington, DC. A somewhat different program will be offered on each of the two days, with the Friday content aimed toward clergy and key lay leaders and Saturday's activities designed for laity, including youth in grades 9-12, and clergy.

Childcare during the Saturday session will be offered for children ages 3-12. Children must be registered by calling the office at St. Mark’s, 954-563-5155, giving the name and age of the child, by the afternoon of Apr. 8. A donation is requested for childcare.

Bright orange “E-Church” bracelets with the words “Embrace Everyone”, reflecting the theme of the conference, will be sold for $2. (Orange is the color that represents racial and ethnic harmony.)

Follow-up workshops on multicultural ministry are being planned for fall. Save the dates—Sept. 12 & 24 or Nov. 11 & 12, and watch for additional details in the coming months.
