DECEMBER  2 0 0 6

If you missed the worship, fellowship—and work—of Diocesan Convention, you can find reports, including Bishop Frade’s address to Convention, at http://diosef.org/convention/2006/. Thanks go to Fr. Bob Deshaies, coordinator Connie Desko and the staff and parishioners of St. Benedict’s, Plantation, for outstanding hospitality; many volunteers made everything run smoothly--and those sandwiches on Friday were an unexpected treat.

As we move into Advent, anyone with access to the internet can take a quiet break each day from the distracting events and tasks of the season with a beautiful online Advent calendar on the website of the Diocese of Washington: http://www.edow.org/spirituality/advent/index.html. This site also offers online Advent activities for children.

Needs in the Diocese of the Dominican Republic—The Diocese of the Dominican Republic, one of our companion dioceses, has several specific ministries that could use “Christmas gifts” from us.
