The
Bishop's Spring Conference--Registration forms are posted
at www.diosef.org/register.html for both the Bishop's
Spring Conference, to be held Apr. 8 and 9, 9 a.m.-3 p.m, in
the gymnasium at St. Mark the Evangelist, Ft. Lauderdale. The
conference theme is One Body--Many Members: Ministry in
a Multicultural World. The speakers will be teacher and pastor Gary Howard,
author of the book, You Can't Teach What You Don't Know and
the Rev. Kortright Davis, professor of theology at Howard University
School of Divinity and rector of Holy Comforter Episcopal Church
in Washington, DC. A somewhat different program will be offered
on each of the two days, with the Friday content aimed toward
clergy and key lay leaders and Saturday's activities designed
for laity, including youth in grades 9-12, and clergy. The
online registration deadline is Mar. 31.Tickets are $15 for
one day or $25 for both days before the deadline or $20 for
one day and $35 for both days after. This cost includes lunch.
Childcare will not be offered. Youth have also been asked to
submit writings or artwork on the theme "What does diversity
mean to me?" for a display at the conference. Prizes will
be awarded for the first and youngest persons to submit material,
the first parish to submit three or more entries and the parish
submitting the most entries.
Inhibition
lifted--Bishop Leo Frade, with
the concurrence of the Standing Committee, has reinstated the
Rev. Paul A. Rasmus to the status of priest in good standing
in the Diocese of Southeast Florida. Fr. Rasmus, who submitted
to the discipline of the church and was inhibited from priestly
duties, effective August 23, 2004, has now fulfilled the canonical
requirements to resume sacerdotal functions in the diocese.
Anglican
Primates' Communiqué--There have been many news reports about the communiqué issued
by the Anglican Primates following their meeting last month.
The complete text of their statement, as well as a statement
by Bishop Frade and a statement from Presiding Bishop Frank
Griswold, can be found at http://www.diosef.org/news_current.html .
Diocesan
Office voicemail unavailable--The Diocesan Office is still without
a voicemail system, so there will be no answer when you
call before or after office hours, and you will not be
able to leave voicemail messages. Until the system is replaced,
we will make sure that the phone is answered throughout
the day. Any messages you leave with our receptionist,
Jessy Soria--or any other person--will be delivered. We
appreciate your patience and hope to have this problem
resolved soon.
Parochial
Reports and Key Personnel Lists--are now past due. The forms are available
to complete and submit online at http://www.diosef.org/LoginParochialRpt.php and https://www.amerisurf.com/diosef/keypersonnel.html A

can be downloaded at http://www.diosef.org/2004ParochialReportForm.pdf
and the instructions can be downloaded at http://www.diosef.org/2004workbook2.pdf and http://www.diosef.org/2004workbook3.pdf

form is incomplete or incorrect in some way, and you have
not actually registered. In that case, go back to the registration
page and try again. If you are having difficulty with online
payment for an event, all registrations for which payment
is required offer the option of registering online but
paying by mail.
